It will have been more than six years since a Port Moody woman vanished and died before a trial in her case begins.
According to online court documents, the trial for Iain Hunt, Trina Hunt’s husband, is scheduled to start in October 2027.
Last February, he was charged with one count of indignity to human remains.
“This charge occurs when a person neglects to perform their legal duty to bury a dead human body, or if a person interferes in an improper, indecent or undignified way with a dead human body or human remains,” said the Integrated Homicide Investigative Team (IHIT) at the time.
Iain has made more than a dozen court appearances since March of 2025.
It’s unclear how long the trial may last.

The 48-year-old’s disappearance was initially reported on Jan. 18, 2021. The high-profile case led to a massive search by police, friends and family members, and the wider community.
Trina’s family said she was active on her phone on Jan. 15 of that year. On Jan. 16, she received a text from a former colleague but didn’t respond. On Jan. 17, the same co-worker reached out, and a reply from Trina’s phone said she was on “digital detox” that weekend.
The following day, Hunt reported her missing. At the time, police said he was the last person to see her at their home before he left for work that morning.
In March of that year, police found a body just south of Silver Creek. IHIT confirmed the remains were Trina on May 1, 2021.

In 2022, a man was taken into custody outside the Hunts’ former Port Moody home. However, he was later released.
IHIT previously confirmed to 1130 NewsRadio that it had sifted through more than 140 tips, conducted at least 90 interviews and filtered through 240 gigabytes of digital evidence, but adds it remains open to new information, despite a charge in the case.
Trina’s cause of death has not been publicized.
