Cold but bright weekend ahead with chance of flurries in Montreal

Mainly sunny skies are expected today, with winds from the northwest at 20 km/h gusting to 40 before becoming light near noon. The daytime high will reach minus–1 Celsius, with wind chill making it feel like minus–12 C this morning and minus–4 C this afternoon. The UV index sits at 5, or moderate.

Tonight, a few clouds are forecast, with winds up to 15 km/h. The temperature will drop to minus–10 C, with a wind chill near minus–15 C overnight.

Saturday will start sunny before turning into a mix of sun and cloud, with a 30 per cent chance of flurries in the afternoon. Winds will become west at 20 km/h near noon. The high will again reach minus–1 C, with wind chill values of minus–15 in the morning and minus–7 in the afternoon. The UV index will be 3, or moderate. Cloudy periods are expected Saturday night, with a low of minus–7 C.

Conditions improve on Sunday with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 5 C. Clouds will increase overnight, with temperatures holding near zero.

A significant warm-up is expected to start the new week. Monday will be cloudy with a high of 13 C. Overnight temperatures will dip to minus–1 C under continued cloudy skies.
