Richmond Night Market without power on Saturday night

All lights at one of North America’s largest night markets went out on Saturday night, temporarily.

According to BC Hydro’s website, an outage caused the Richmond Night Market to be without power until at least 5 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Videos on social media show how the illuminated market area near the intersection of River Road and No. 3 Road suddenly went black.

According to a Facebook post, the many vendors and booths at the Richmond Night Market lost power around 5 p.m.

CityNews has reached out to BC Hydro and the Richmond Night Market for comment.
