More than $25M invested in sports facilities in Côte-des-Neiges–NDG

The borough of Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce is moving ahead with more than $25 million in upgrades to sports and outdoor infrastructure aimed at improving access for families and promoting active living.

Work is set to begin in the coming days on the expansion and renovation of the Trenholme Sports Centre. The project will modernize the facility and include the installation of an elevator to improve accessibility for people with reduced mobility and families with strollers.

“These projects demonstrate our commitment to making concrete investments in the quality of life of families in our borough. By modernizing our sports infrastructure and green spaces, we are improving the experience in environments that are conducive to health, meetings and the development of our community,” said borough mayor Stephanie Valenzuela.

Several improvements are also planned at Loyola Park throughout 2026. An expansion of the park chalet is already underway, while trail rehabilitation work is scheduled for later this summer. A new batting cage is also expected to be built in the fall.

Meanwhile, work at Jean-Brillant Park is nearing completion, including the expansion of the chalet and renovations to the wading pool that began last year.

Borough officials say the investments are part of a broader effort to create safe, accessible and high-quality spaces for residents. The city has also earmarked $50 million in its 2026–2035 capital plan for the future construction of a new sports centre in Côte-des-Neiges.

The borough says the projects reflect its ongoing efforts to meet the needs of a growing population while encouraging inclusive and active lifestyles.
