Montreal police (SPVM) is seeking public assistance in an investigation into an attempted murder involving a firearm that occurred on April 29, in the Saint-Laurent borough of Montreal.
According to investigators, the incident began around 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Côte-Vertu Boulevard and Bégin Street, where a dark-coloured vehicle allegedly pursued another car westbound. The chased vehicle reportedly committed several traffic violations before stopping in a parking lot near a Shell gas station on Côte-Vertu Boulevard.
Police say the suspect vehicle then entered the parking lot, where a gunshot was fired. The victim attempted to flee on foot but was pursued, and a second shot was discharged shortly after, causing the victim to collapse. The suspect vehicle fled eastbound following the attack.
Investigators believe the suspect vehicle is a black or dark blue Honda CR-V from model years 2015 to 2019. It may have visible damage, including possible projectile impacts and collision marks.
The SPVM is asking witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be provided to 911 or anonymously through Info-Crime Montréal at 514-393-1133 or online, with potential rewards of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.
