A home in Surrey was the target of gunfire for the second time in a little over a month, police say.
The Surrey Police Service (SPS) says it responded to reports of shots fired near 95 Avenue and 127 Street around 2:50 a.m. on April 13.
No one was reported injured, but officers reportedly found a residence damaged by bullets.
At the time, the SPS said it was too early to determine motivation for the shooting, and investigators did not then connect the incident to extortion.
In an update earlier this month, police said investigators identified a suspect vehicle and obtained a search warrant for a Surrey residence.
“One man was arrested during the execution of the warrant and is now charged with one Criminal Code offence,” said Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton.
A 27-year-old man is reportedly facing one count of discharging a firearm into a place, knowing or being reckless as to whether someone was present.

On Monday, the SPS reported that more shots were fired at the same 95 Avenue home.
Police responded to reports of the shooting around 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
“SPS Frontline officers located evidence of a shooting and a canvas of neighbours and witnesses determined that the shooting took place around 1:40 a.m., about 11 hours earlier.”
The home was reportedly unoccupied, and once again, no one was injured.
Investigators have since determined the shooting is connected to extortion crimes.
Witnesses or anyone with video of the incident is asked to contact the SPS non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 26-51457 (SP).
As of Wednesday last week, the SPS said 108 extortion crimes had been reported in Surrey in 2026, affecting 59 victims, including 17 shots fired and two arsons.
