Teen Arrested in Daring Jewelry Heist Attempt in Ahunstic-Cartierville

An 18-year-old man, Hamsleyson Falens Theobald, faces charges for his involvement in a break-in at a jewelry store in Montreal’s Ahunstic-Cartierville borough. The incident took place early on July 6 when Theobald, along with three other teenagers, drove an SUV into the store in what police described as an unsuccessful robbery attempt.

Theobald appeared in court on Monday and was charged with two offenses related to the break-in. If convicted, he could potentially face up to 10 years in prison. Currently, he is in police custody awaiting further legal proceedings.

The three other teens involved, who are under 18 years old, have been released and are scheduled to appear in youth court at a later date. Following the break-in, the suspects abandoned the SUV inside the store and fled in a separate getaway car.

Law enforcement officers swiftly responded to the scene, intercepting a vehicle matching the description given by witnesses and apprehending all four individuals.
