“Kensington Market Blaze: One Critically Injured as Fire Rips Through Home, Leaves 2 Hospitalized”

A fierce blaze engulfed a two-storey house in Kensington Market, resulting in two individuals being rushed to the hospital, as confirmed by Toronto authorities on a bustling Tuesday afternoon.

The fire ignited at approximately 12:27 p.m. within a residential property located in the vibrant vicinity of Bathurst Street and Dundas Street West.

Emergency medical responders verified that two individuals were swiftly taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment. A male adult sustained severe injuries, while a female adult received medical care for minor injuries, notably smoke inhalation.

“Emergency crews worked tirelessly amidst scorching outdoor conditions at the site of a distressing 2-alarm house fire near the intersection of Bathurst St./Dundas St. W. Two occupants were rescued, with one being rescued via a ground ladder from the second floor,” stated fire officials.

Due to the ongoing operations at the scene, Bathurst Street has been closed at Dundas Street West. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes while emergency teams continue their efforts.
