Coalition Avenir Québec Unveils Bold New Branding with Fréchette at the Forefront!

The political landscape in Québec is undergoing a transformation with the announcement of a new name and logo for the CAQ party.

Formerly known as the Coalition Avenir Québec, the party has rebranded itself as Équipe Christine Fréchette – Coalition Avenir Quebec. This change is now reflected on the official Élections Québec website.

Visitors to the party’s website will notice the absence of the old name, with only Christine Fréchette’s name and the new logo prominently displayed. Furthermore, recent candidate videos emphasize their affiliation with Équipe Christine Fréchette.

In a statement to reporters in Longueuil, CAQ Leader and Quebec Premier Christine Fréchette explained that the name change signifies a shift in approach, style, and leadership. She noted that the previous name was closely tied to ex-leader François Legault, whereas the new name aligns with her leadership.

Following the resignation of her predecessor earlier this year, the party was briefly known as Coalition avenir Québec – Équipe François Legault. Political science professor Danielle Pilette from Université du Quebec à Montréal suggests that Fréchette’s rebranding effort aims to demonstrate her control over the party since assuming the premiership.
