Montreal Authorities Investigate Stabbing Incident in City Park

Montreal authorities are actively investigating a recent incident where a 31-year-old man was reportedly stabbed during a brawl in Gary Longhi Park. The altercation took place in the Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension borough on Wednesday night.

The Montreal Police (SPVM) responded to multiple 911 calls around 10:15 p.m. alerting them to a person injured by a sharp object near the intersection of 20th Avenue and Villeray Street. Upon arriving at the scene, officers located the injured man with wounds to his upper body.

The victim was conscious and was promptly transported to the hospital, where he is currently in stable condition. SPVM spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils stated that the stabbing resulted from a conflict that escalated among several individuals in the park.

Authorities are actively interviewing witnesses and searching for security camera footage in the vicinity to gather more information about the incident. As of now, no arrests have been made, and there were no other reported injuries.
