“Urgent Evacuation: Wildfire Engulfs Boston Bar, Residents Flee Amid Growing Flames”

In response to a growing wildfire threat, residents of the townsite of Boston Bar have been instructed to evacuate immediately. The wildfire, which intensified overnight, has prompted authorities to take precautionary measures to ensure the safety of the community.

Those evacuating are advised to travel southward via Highway 1 to distance themselves from the Brunswick fire complex that poses a significant risk to the area. The Fraser Valley Regional District is directing individuals in need of assistance to seek refuge at the Shxwháy Village community centre in Chilliwack.

The Brunswick Creek and Ainslie Creek fires, collectively known as the Brunswick complex, have led to multiple evacuation orders and alerts affecting numerous properties in recent weeks. The latest evacuation order, issued on Thursday morning, encompasses the townsite of Boston Bar, where approximately 170 residents reside.

Furthermore, a distinct evacuation order and alert have been issued for Pemberton in response to a new wildfire threatening the region. The surge in fire incidents across the province has resulted in a total of 31 active blazes in British Columbia, with 14 fires igniting within the past 24 hours.
