Get ready for a cultural feast at Chợ Đêm MTL, returning to Griffintown’s Bassin Peel from July 16 to 19. The festival, hosted by the Association des Vietnamiens du Québec, promises to be their biggest yet, drawing over 25,000 visitors.
Over the four days, attendees can indulge in the offerings of 22 Vietnamese food, dessert, and coffee vendors, explore the works of more than 30 local artisans, and enjoy over 50 live performances. This vibrant event will also host workshops and discussions that celebrate Vietnamese culture and the diverse community of Montreal.
From savoring regional Vietnamese street food to joining language and cooking demonstrations, there’s something for everyone. Visitors can peruse a marketplace featuring handmade goods and elegant traditional Áo Dài clothing.
With a focus on accessibility and eco-friendliness, the festival offers affordable $5 admission for all performances and workshops. Most food items are priced at $10 or less, and entry is free for children under 12, seniors over 65, wheelchair users, and guests donning traditional Áo Dài attire. To reduce waste, Chợ Đêm MTL has teamed up with RECYC-QUÉBEC and Bopaq to introduce reusable food containers.
