21-Year-Old Hit with Nearly 12 Gun Charges, Police on the Hunt for Elusive Second Suspect

Authorities in Toronto have apprehended a 21-year-old individual on nearly a dozen firearm-related charges. Law enforcement officials are currently pursuing a second individual believed to be linked to the incident.

According to reports, two men were observed walking in the vicinity of Driftwood Avenue and Finch Avenue West at approximately 9:30 p.m. on July 15. Upon noticing a police vehicle, they attempted to evade detection.

The Major Crimes Unit promptly initiated a pursuit, leading to the apprehension of one of the individuals. During the chase and subsequent arrest, two officers sustained minor injuries.

Law enforcement recovered a loaded firearm and an extended magazine, as well as another loaded extended magazine discovered in a satchel purportedly carried by the arrested man.

The suspect, identified as Shevontae Stewart-Wilson, is now facing a total of 10 charges related to firearms, including unauthorized possession, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession contrary to a prohibition order.

While Stewart-Wilson has been detained, the second individual remains at large with no detailed description released by the police.
