Toddler Miraculously Survives Car Accident in Montreal’s Saint-Laurent

A 20-month-old baby was struck by a car while in a stroller in Montreal, with the incident involving a 17-year-old driver. The toddler was hospitalized but is now in stable condition, with no life-threatening injuries.

The collision took place on Montpellier Boulevard, close to Muir Street, in the Saint-Laurent borough around 7:45 p.m. According to Johany Charland, the spokesperson for the Montreal police (SPVM), the child’s mother and aunt were crossing the street at a crosswalk with the stroller when the vehicle hit them.

The toddler suffered serious injuries to the upper body but was conscious and breathing when emergency services arrived. Doctors later confirmed that the child’s life was not at risk.

The teenage driver, who experienced nervous shock, received treatment from paramedics but did not sustain physical injuries. An investigation is currently ongoing to determine the reasons behind the accident, locate witnesses, and review surveillance footage.
