Organizers of this year’s PNE Fair — the event’s 116th edition — are confident that this year will be the best one yet.
The gates will open Saturday, with what is promised to be a bigger, better experience than ever before.
“There will be something exciting to discover around every corner: more to see, more to do, more to love,” said PNE president Shelley Frost.
Attendees will have the chance to take in fan favourites like the SuperDogs, who are returning for their 50th anniversary.
As well, the West Coast Lumberjack Show will give fairgoers a chance to witness some otherworldly precision with a chainsaw.
Elsewhere, the PNE Coliseum will play host to a reimagining of The Wizard of Oz, which is free with admission.
But this is just the tip of the iceberg.
“We have daily breakdancing competitions, the high-flying thrills of a dare-devil circus, and live music throughout the grounds, and of course all the new and different food that you could possibly experience,” Frost said.
One of the other significant changes in 2026 is the brand new Freedom Mobile Arch, which will be making its debut as the home of this year’s Summer Night Concerts. There are 15 shows scheduled throughout the fair, including performances from Blue Rodeo, Sarah McLachlan, and Weird Al Yankovic.
Gates open Saturday. The PNE Fair will run until Sept. 7.
