5-year-old airlifted to trauma centre following Barrie crash

A five-year-old boy was airlifted to a trauma centre after three people were struck by a vehicle Friday morning in Barrie.

Police in Barrie say two boys, aged five and 9, and a woman were struck by a vehicle while crossing Mapleview Drive West at 7 a.m.

The nine-year-old was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries while the five-year-old and the woman were airlifted via Ornge helicopter to a trauma centre in Toronto, where they were listed in stable condition.

Police say the female driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
