An overnight fire completely consumed a vehicle parked in a Montreal driveway, prompting an inquiry by the city’s arson investigation team.
According to Montreal police, a call came in at 2:50 a.m. alerting them to a blaze on Louis-Darveau Street, near Marc-Aurèle-Fortin Boulevard, within the Rivière-des-Prairies—Pointe-aux-Trembles neighborhood.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the vehicle ablaze while firefighters rushed to the location.
As a safety measure, some residents were asked to vacate the premises.
Authorities detected suspicious materials at the site, leading them to believe the fire may have been deliberately set.
Fortunately, no harm was done to the home, although the vehicle was completely destroyed in the incident.
The case has now been transferred to the SPVM’s arson division for further investigation.
