High Temperatures Impacting GO Trains and UP Express Service
As the scorching heat continues to bear down, Metrolinx warns that some GO trains and the UP Express will once again be affected on Tuesday.
During the peak heat hours between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., two Kitchener line trips and four UP Express trips will be canceled.
Passengers should also anticipate potential delays of up to 10 minutes on various routes due to heat-related speed restrictions.
These service adjustments are crucial as the intense heat causes the steel train tracks to expand, heightening the risk of derailment.
Metrolinx is taking proactive measures by deploying staff to conduct regular track temperature checks and adjust train speeds for safety.
Stay informed by checking real-time service updates on the Metrolinx and UP Express websites.
