“74-Year-Old Toronto Man Faces Charges in Shocking Attempted Child Abduction in Caledon, Police Say”

Ontario police arrested a 74-year-old man from Toronto for attempting to abduct children in Caledon. The incident took place on Dotchson Ave and Sparrowbrook St on August 29 around 7:20 p.m., prompting a response from Caledon OPP officers after reports of a suspicious situation.

According to a statement from the OPP, a lone male in a vehicle approached a group of children and tried to convince them to enter his car. Fortunately, the children refused, and the man drove away. The suspect, described as elderly, was driving a white Honda Civic sedan with significant front-end damage.

Following an investigation, the Toronto man was charged with abduction of a person under 14. Authorities suspect there might be other victims and are urging parents and guardians to talk to their children about similar potential incidents.
