A pedestrian in Montreal’s LaSalle borough was critically injured in a collision with a vehicle while crossing a boulevard on Wednesday night.
The Montreal police responded to multiple 911 calls at approximately 9:10 p.m. regarding the incident at the junction of Newman Boulevard and Thierry Street.
Upon arrival, authorities found the victim at the site, suffering serious injuries but conscious and breathing. She was promptly transported to the hospital for medical care.
Medical professionals stated that additional evaluations are required to ascertain the severity of the woman’s injuries.
The driver, an 81-year-old man, emerged unscathed from the incident.
From police reports, the vehicle was moving westbound along Newman Boulevard when the pedestrian, who was said to be crossing the boulevard towards the south, was struck.
A security perimeter was established to facilitate investigations into the circumstances that led to the accident.
Law enforcement officials have stated that there is no current evidence indicating any criminal intent in the collision.
