Peel Regional Police have apprehended and pressed charges against two individuals regarding a shooting incident that took place in a Brampton neighborhood in 2025. The incident occurred late in the evening on October 19, 2025, triggering a response from authorities following reports of gunfire in the area of Dawnridge Trail and Clifton Court. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male victim who had sustained several gunshot wounds. The injured individual was promptly transported to the hospital and is thankfully expected to recover fully.
After months of diligent investigation, law enforcement officers successfully made two arrests in August 2026. The suspects identified as Lavontae Bowleg, a 19-year-old from Sudbury, and a male from Oshawa who was 17 at the time of the incident, are facing multiple serious charges related to firearms. These charges include aggravated assault, attempted murder with a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and conspiracy to commit murder, among other offenses.
Both individuals are currently in custody awaiting a bail hearing. The identity of the younger accused is shielded under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
