In a quiet residential neighborhood in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, a suburb on the western side of Montreal’s Island, the tranquility was shattered by the sound of gunshots ringing out in the night.
Late on Friday evening, multiple calls were made to 911 reporting the disturbing noise of gunshots echoing through Lido Street, near Pheasant Street.
Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers discovered no individuals harmed or suspects present. Instead, they found shell casings strewn on the ground and evidence of bullets piercing a residence and a vehicle in the driveway, as informed by Officer Caroline Chèvrefils, a spokesperson for the Montreal Police Service (SPVM).
The exact details surrounding this alarming incident remain shrouded in mystery.
A secure perimeter was promptly established to safeguard the location for investigative teams and forensic experts to meticulously analyze the scene and piece together the sequence of events, as highlighted by Chèvrefils.
Throughout the night, witnesses were interviewed, and authorities planned to review nearby surveillance cameras on Saturday in the hope of uncovering footage related to the gunfire.
As of the latest update, no suspects had been apprehended.
