Durham authorities report that a man, sought on a nationwide arrest warrant for the alleged killing of a 47-year-old man in Markham, has left the country.
The tragic incident took place on April 30, 2025, after law enforcement responded to a well-being check near Fairport and Third Concession Roads. Upon their arrival, they discovered the victim, Joshua Ibbitson of Newmarket, deceased in a vehicle. A subsequent post-mortem examination revealed that his death was a result of homicide.
The suspect, 25-year-old Kane Booth from Pickering, is being sought for first-degree murder. Described as a male with a slim build, five-feet and eleven inches tall, with light brown hair and brown eyes, Booth is now confirmed to have fled the country.
Authorities urge anyone with information on Booth’s whereabouts to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
