A Corvette driver in Coldstream had his car impounded by BC Highway Patrol (BCHP) for alleged intoxication.
Early on September 26, the driver zoomed past a BCHP officer on Highway 6, clocking an excessive speed of 120 km/h in an 80 km/h zone, as per BCHP radar readings.
Despite the officer’s attempts to pull him over with lights and sirens, the driver seemed unaware and continued speeding, even hitting 120 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.
Only stopping at a mini mall after a pursuit, the 55-year-old man failed two Mandatory Alcohol Screening tests and had his license revoked on the spot.
In addition to losing his license, the driver faces impound and administrative fees, high-risk driver premiums, and a license reinstatement fee, totaling over $2,400 in penalties.
