Late on Tuesday evening, Toronto Pearson International Airport’s control tower was evacuated, causing delays for several flights.
According to a post on social media around 10 p.m., airport authorities evacuated the Apron Management Unit Tower following reports of smoke.
Although staff members have now returned and operations have resumed, there is an air traffic management initiative in place, leading to delays for both arriving and departing flights.
Passengers are advised to verify the status of their flights directly with their respective airlines, as no further information is currently accessible.
