A 19-year-old man has been taken into custody following a stabbing incident in Oshawa, while police are on the lookout for another suspect.
The Durham Regional Police Service responded to a disturbance on August 11, 2025, when three individuals were reportedly involved in a physical altercation at the intersection of Mary Street North and William Street East around 6:35 p.m.
The victim, who was playing basketball, was confronted by two males, leading to a heated argument escalating into a violent encounter resulting in the victim being stabbed. The perpetrators fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.
The victim received medical attention for non-life-threatening injuries at a nearby hospital.
Dajon Colley, 19, without a fixed address, was apprehended on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, by authorities. Colley faces several charges, including aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and breach of probation. He is currently awaiting a bail hearing.
The investigation is ongoing, with law enforcement still searching for the second suspect.
