“Chinatown Stabbing Suspect Claims Mental and Moral Turmoil During Attack”

During the trial in Vancouver for aggravated assault, the man accused of stabbing three individuals at a Vancouver Chinatown festival two years ago, Blair Donnelly, revealed that he believed he was mentally and “morally” unwell at the time of the incident. Donnelly acknowledged his actions on the third day of the trial, recalling how he was consumed by the idea of causing harm after a divine instruction from God following his release from the B.C. Forensic Psychiatric Hospital in Coquitlam for a bike ride on the eventful day.

As he faced cross-examination by Crown prosecutor Mark Myhre, Donnelly, who has pleaded not guilty, contemplated the potential outcomes, acknowledging the possibility of being incarcerated or returning to the hospital based on his criminal responsibility. When asked about his preference, Donnelly expressed his desire to follow the path dictated by his faith.
