Top RCMP Official Facing Serious Charges: Assistant Commissioner David Teboul Accused of Assault and Choking in British Columbia

A senior RCMP officer in British Columbia is facing charges of assault in an off-duty incident, prompting the involvement of a special prosecutor.

According to the BC Prosecution Service, Assistant Commissioner David Teboul, who holds a key position as the RCMP’s Pacific Region commander, has been charged with multiple counts of assault, including assault by choking against one individual and assault against another.

The charges stem from alleged incidents in Abbotsford on July 2, leading to Teboul’s appearance in provincial court on Thursday. His first court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 9 in Abbotsford.

To ensure the integrity of the legal process, the prosecution service has appointed Vancouver lawyer Andi MacKay as a special prosecutor on Aug. 20, in order to prevent any potential undue influence on the case.
