A 15-year-old boy is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle while driving his scooter Sunday in what may have been a hit-and-run.
Quebec provincial police (SQ) say that around 1 a.m., a motorist found the seriously injured teen on the side of Canal Street (R-338), between St-Féréol Road and St-Dominique Road in Les Cèdres, about 50 kilometres west of Montreal.
The teen’s scooter was found nearby.
Officials say the teen was transported to hospital with serious injuries and remains in critical condition.
The Vaudreuil-Dorion Major Crimes Investigation Unit is assisting the SQ with the investigation.
SQ say they are looking for witnesses and anyone who saw a vehicle in the area with damage consistent with a collision to come forward.
The investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-659-4262 or contact the SQ online.
