“Autumn Arrives with a Whisper: Toronto Welcomes Fall with Gentle Skies and Mild Breezes”

Toronto is experiencing a summer-like start to fall, with temperatures reminiscent of mid-July rather than late September. The warm and humid conditions are set to continue, capping off an unusually hot month ahead.

According to Environment Canada, Monday’s forecast predicts a high of 25°C, feeling more like 30°C with the humidex. The skies will be mostly cloudy, with a 60% chance of showers and a potential thunderstorm later in the afternoon. Overnight, temperatures will drop to 17°C under partly cloudy skies.

The warm beginning of autumn follows a September filled with summer-like weather, with daytime highs frequently surpassing the mid-20s. Overnight lows have also been warmer than the usual average, making for mild evenings.

Despite some occasional rainfall, the majority of the month saw dry, sunny days that prolonged the summer vibe well past Labour Day.

Historical climate data indicates that Toronto typically experiences cooler fall temperatures, around 20°C or lower, by the final third of September. However, Environment Canada forecasts that the warmth will persist for a few more days. Tuesday is expected to bring a mix of sun and clouds with a high near 23°C, followed by a cooler and sunnier Wednesday at 20°C.

As the week progresses, temperatures are projected to normalize closer to seasonal averages, with highs around 19-20°C and overnight lows in the low teens.
