Toronto is gearing up to end September with a sunny stretch, as per forecasts from Environment Canada predicting clear skies and mild weather in the coming days.
Expect daytime temperatures to peak at 24°C on Monday, 22°C on Tuesday, 20°C on Wednesday, and 19°C on Thursday. By the weekend, the city is anticipated to warm up to 25°C, with no rain in sight.
While days will be pleasant, nights will be cooler with lows ranging from 11°C to 9°C, potentially dropping to 7°C on Thursday.
It’s a departure from the usual end-of-September weather in Toronto, characterized by cooler temperatures and increased rainfall. Typically, this time of year sees highs around 20°C and lows in the low teens, accompanied by frequent rain showers totaling 60–80 millimetres for the month.
This week’s outlook, however, offers a different story with dry conditions and above-average temperatures, giving Torontonians a taste of late summer rather than early fall.
Although this warm spell won’t extend far into October, historically, Toronto’s temperatures drop to around 15–16°C in the first half of the month, nearing single digit lows.
By mid-October, frost advisories become common in the GTA’s outskirts, with the city experiencing near-freezing overnight temperatures.
Looking ahead, early October may see a mild start with highs in the teens to low 20s before a more significant cool-down later in the month.
