Surrey Police Charge Suspect in Alleged Sexual Assault Incident

Authorities from the Surrey Police Service (SPS) have announced that a man has been charged in connection with an alleged sexual assault that occurred in August.

The incident took place in the early hours of August 26 near a bus stop located on King George Boulevard and 98th Avenue. According to reports, a woman was walking in the area when she was approached by a man who requested the use of her phone. After the woman declined, the man allegedly pushed her into a nearby bush and sexually assaulted her. Despite the attack, the victim managed to fight off the suspect, sustaining minor injuries in the process.

Prior to the assault on the woman, it was reported that the suspect had stolen a cellphone from another individual in the vicinity.

Kulwinder Mann, a 42-year-old individual, has been charged with sexual assault, assault, and theft under $5,000 in relation to the incident. Mann is currently in custody.
