Tragic Accident at Royal York Station Claims Woman’s Life
A heartbreaking incident unfolded at Royal York Station when a woman was tragically pinned under a TTC bus, resulting in her untimely death, as confirmed by the authorities.
The distressing event took place in the bus bay area of the station at the intersection of Royal York Road and Bloor Street West, prompting immediate response from emergency crews around 1:15 p.m. on Monday.
Upon arrival, the woman was found lifeless and was pronounced dead at the scene, with her exact age yet to be disclosed.
In light of the ongoing investigation, the TTC has announced a temporary halt in train services at the station.
Furthermore, alterations to bus routes have been made following the incident – the 15 Evans bus will not be making stops at the station and has been rerouted to Islington Station. Buses catering to the 73 Royal York route have also been redirected to Old Mill Station.
