Gabriel Houle, a candidate vying for a councillor position in Montreal’s upcoming election, is facing backlash due to a series of discriminatory Facebook posts that have recently surfaced on his profile.
Houle, who is running with Action Montreal in the district of Jeanne-Mance within Le Plateau-Mont-Royal, has come under scrutiny for his offensive posts targeting various races and women, as well as making derogatory remarks about George Floyd.
As these posts gained attention, Houle’s candidate profile was swiftly removed from the Action Montréal website. Despite attempts to reach out for comments, both Houle and Action Montréal have remained silent.
In addition to the discriminatory content, Houle’s social media presence included disparaging comments aimed at other election candidates and Montreal voters.
Before his profile was taken down, Houle portrayed himself as an artist advocating for politicians to prioritize the needs of the people, criticizing the failures of many in the political sphere.
