B.C. Conservative Leader Orders Phone Search Among MLAs to Uncover Source of Leak

During a recent meeting, British Columbia’s Opposition Leader John Rustad confirmed that the cellphones of Conservative members underwent a search to uncover a leak within his caucus. Rustad explained that the search was conducted by fellow members to ensure that no inappropriate information had been shared.

Upon examining the phones, no alarming findings were discovered, reassuring Rustad that there were no breaches of confidentiality. He clarified that this type of phone search is not a routine practice within the party.

The search was initiated after discussions within the caucus meeting highlighted leaked information that had surfaced on social media. While not all Conservative members were eager to have their phones inspected, the majority consented to the search.
