Montreal Detectives Probe Fiery Attack on Saint-Laurent Residence

Montreal authorities are currently probing an attempted arson incident that took place in Saint-Laurent during the early hours of Friday morning.

Shortly after 1:00 a.m., emergency services received a call reporting a fire outbreak at a residence situated on Khalil-Gibran Street near Lebeau Blvd.

Upon arrival at the scene, officials from the Montreal police encountered that the fire had already subsided. Caroline Chèvrefils, a spokesperson for the Montreal Police, revealed, “Preliminary reports suggest that one or more individuals hurled an incendiary device at the property and swiftly absconded before law enforcement’s arrival.”

A single incendiary object was recovered at the site, causing only minor damage to the dwelling.

Chèvrefils further stated, “The area was cordoned off to allow investigators to meticulously examine the scene and unravel the precise sequence of events.”

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, and as of now, no suspects have been apprehended in connection with the incident.

The case has since been handed over to the Montreal Police’s arson unit for further investigation.
