A jewellery store in Vaughan faced two attempted robberies recently, York Regional Police reported.
The incidents occurred at Finch Centre Jewellers near Colossus Drive and Famous Avenue. During the first attempt on Friday at 11:00 a.m., a vehicle rammed into the store’s front window, but the culprits failed to break in and left empty-handed.
The same store was targeted in another thwarted robbery on Tuesday afternoon. A man entered the store and engaged the staff while propping open the inner door, which was quickly secured by employees. Moments later, six masked individuals approached the store from a dark SUV, with one brandishing a hammer. Unable to access the locked door, the group fled in their vehicle.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and no items were stolen. Authorities have shared suspect descriptions and are urging witnesses or anyone with relevant information to come forward.
