Road closures expected for Highways 25, 30 over coming weekend

Montrealers can expect some road closures over the coming weekend.

Transport Quebec says part of Highway 25 in both directions, including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel, will be closed, as well as some lanes on Highway 30 near Highway 10.

Night closures are expected for Highway 25 between 7:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night from Tuesday until Thursday.

During that time frame, the right lane of Highway 25 northbound between Exit 5 — Route 138, Sherbrooke Street, Yves-Prévost Boulevard — and Exit 7 — W.-Pelletier Boulevard, Châteauneuf Boulevard — will be closed.

Additionally, the entrance from Sherbrooke Street East and Exit 7 — W.-Pelletier Boulevard, Châteauneuf Boulevard — will be closed.

The right lane closure will also be in place from 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13 until 5 a.m. on Nov. 14.

Following this, from 11 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14 until 8 a.m. on Saturday, there will be a complete Highway 25 toward the South Shore (including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel) between Exit 5 — Route 138, Hochelaga Street, Sherbrooke Street — and the entrance from Île Charron.

Additionally, during the same time frame Highway 25 toward Montreal (including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel) between Exit 90 — Highway 20 West, Route 132, La Prairie, USA, Varennes, P.-E.-Trudeau Airport — and the entrance from Yves-Prévost Boulevard, will also be closed. This closure will also e in place from 11 p.m. on Saturday until 9 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 16.

The Highway will close 30 minutes prior to when the work begins.

This work will be for work on the tunnel’s electrical and communication systems and to reconfiguration of exit No. 1 of Highway 25 toward Montreal.

Highway 30 will also be closed at Exit 67 — Montreal (downtown)/Sherbrooke — from 10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14 to 5 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 17.

During this time, a detour will be in place via Exit 69 — Grande Allée.

Transport Quebec says that if necessary, there may be night closures of the service road of Highway 10 westbound at Highway 30, involving the closure of Highway 30 westbound to Highway 10 westbound and Highway 10 westbound to Highway 30 eastbound.

Detours will be marked by signage.

Drivers are advised that work may be postponed due to adverse weather, and they should check Quebec 511, prior to hitting the road.
