“Heroic Rescue on Chilliwack River: Teams Save Five People and Four Dogs from Flood’s Fury”

Shortly after the Fraser Valley Regional District issued evacuation orders and alerts for areas near the Chilliwack River due to a state of local emergency, a dramatic rescue operation unfolded. A group of 5 people and 4 dogs found themselves trapped on an island as floodwaters surrounded them, prompting a swift response.

North Shore Rescue (NSR) sprung into action, deploying its helicopter team in collaboration with Chilliwack Search and Rescue. The team was faced with challenging conditions, including strong winds and rising floodwaters, as they worked to bring the stranded group to safety.

With the assistance of their partner Talon Helicopters, NSR conducted a daring rescue mission that involved hoisting all individuals and dogs to safety. The operation spanned several hours and required precision flying to navigate through tight trees and turbulent conditions.

NSR highlighted the importance of their specialized K9 rescue kits, which include equipment such as dog harnesses designed for helicopter rescues, ensuring the successful evacuation of both humans and their furry companions.
