Manhunt Underway for Suspect Who Assaulted Bus Passenger with Blade in Shocking TTC Incident, Police Report

Toronto police are on the hunt for a suspect following an alleged assault that took place on a TTC bus during Wednesday afternoon. According to authorities, the incident occurred around 3:17 p.m. in the vicinity of Coxwell Avenue and Queen Street East.

The altercation began when the suspect, who was already on the bus, kicked the property of another passenger, leading to a heated exchange of words. Subsequently, the suspect proceeded to physically attack the victim with a sharp object, as reported in a statement released by the Toronto Police Service.

Following the assault, the suspect fled on foot, leaving the victim with injuries that, while serious, are fortunately not life-threatening. The victim was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Authorities are seeking the suspect on charges of assault with a weapon, assault resulting in bodily harm, and illegal possession of a weapon. The suspect is described as being between five-foot-four and five-foot-eight in height, of medium build, and sporting facial hair. During the incident, he was attired in a black-hooded jacket, light khaki pants, black shoes, and carried a black backpack.
