A water main break early this morning left part of De Lorimier Avenue covered in water and ice.
The incident was reported around 3:30 a.m., near the intersection of De Lorimier Avenue and Masson Street. Water was seen pooling around vehicle tires, and a salt truck was dispatched to the scene as freezing temperatures caused icy conditions.
At least one nearby residence had water enter the home. It is not yet known whether occupants will need to evacuate.
De Lorimier Avenue is affected in both directions in the area, and motorists are advised to avoid the sector for the next few hours.
The cause of the break has not yet been determined.
