An RCMP officer has been injured during a training exercise in Surrey.
Officers were conducting a traffic-related exercise at 152nd Street and 100th Avenue when a collision occurred, police say.
“It just happened,” Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton told 1130 NewsRadio shortly after 10:45 a.m.
“There are very few details at this point other than an RCMP officer has been injured.”
Houghton says the training was being conducted by the Integrated Road Safety Unit.
As of 11 a.m., a tow truck is on scene, he says.
Callers to 1130 NewsRadio say 152nd is blocked off from Guildford Mall all the way to 94th Avenue.
We have reached out to the RCMP and the Provincial Health Services Authority for more information.
This is a developing story.
