Police release video of Delta arson suspects lighting house fire

Over a year since a fire ripped through a home in Delta, police are seeking help identifying the suspected arsonists.

The Delta Police Department (DPD) says crews were called to the home on 84a Avenue near 116 Street around 4 a.m. on April 3, 2025.

Originally, the DPD reported that the cause of the fire was not suspicious. But by the next day, it said new evidence suggested that the fire was an act of arson.

“The Delta Police is aware of speculation on social media suggesting the fire was related to an illegal drug laboratory. There is no evidence or suspicion of a drug lab being present at this residence or involved in this accidental fire,” said the original statement by police.

Fire Battalion Chief Hardeep Dhaliwal said the loud bangs people reported hearing were probably from the exploding tires on a vehicle that was also in flames.

In an update Thursday, the department released images and video of two masked suspects.

The suspects can be seen pouring a flammable liquid from a jerrycan, while walking around the house and driveway, igniting the liquid, and running from the property.

Police are asking anyone with information about the suspects or the incident to call 604-940-7321 or email tips@deltapolice.ca.
