Montreal Canadiens’ captain Nick Suzuki and his wife, Caitlin, have welcomed daughter Maya – just ahead of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Suzuki spoke to the media on Friday ahead of the Habs traveling down to Tampa Bay, where he told reporters that his wife gave birth on Wednesday.
“My wife, she was awesome. It was definitely a special day for us and both our families and it was good timing for us right before Tampa,” Suzuki told reporters. “It’s been an exciting couple of days.”
The Suzuki’s announced they were expecting on social media back in December.

Suzuki went on to speak about how his team is gearing up for their first round matchup against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
