Longueuil Mayor Catherine Fournier has given birth to her first child, a baby boy named Henri.
The announcement was shared Sunday on social media, where Fournier expressed her joy following the birth earlier that morning. She also thanked staff at Pierre-Boucher Hospital’s Mother-Child Centre for their care.
In a post published last week, Fournier reflected on the timing of her son’s arrival, noting she was proud to give birth while Quebec is led by a woman. She added that the moment carries a sense of responsibility to continue advancing progress.
