It’s that time again, students from Montreal’s Carlyle Elementary School released their new song.
It’s the seventh one, put together with the school’s music teacher, Christine Crawford, created with her grade six students of the year.
“I watched them grow not only as musicians, but thoughtful collaborators and creative thinkers,” she told CityNews. “Every voice mattered and each student contributed something unique to the final piece.”
In the past, their IB exhibition project had pieces highlighting peace, climate change, overcoming stress, and this year, the song is called “Don’t Look Away.”
Now available on YouTube, the creation acts as a reminder that no action is ever too small to matter.

Over nearly two months, the students got to explore song structure and composition, crafting their own lyrics and melodies as a team.
Hoping that all who listen will feel inspired.
“This song is a reflection of who they are,” said Crawford. “Creative, aware, and capable of making a difference.”
