Police are investigating after a man died following a stabbing in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside Thursday.
The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) says officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the area of East Hastings Street and Dunlevy Avenue around 12:40 a.m.
The victim, 36-year-old Matthew MacFarlane, was transported to hospital, where he died of his injuries.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Major Crime Section at 604-717-2500.
“No arrests have been made.”

On Jan. 20, a 48-year-old man died of stabbing injuries in East Vancouver.
Late last month, police began investigating the suspicious death of a 21-year-old man in the Downtown Eastside on March 20 as a homicide.
