A 20-year-old man was shot and wounded late Wednesday evening in the Saint-Laurent borough of Montreal.
Montreal police (SPVM) received several 911 calls at 11:30 p.m. reporting gunshots on de la Côte-Vertu Road near Bégin Street.
When police arrived on the scene, they located the victim, who had sustained gunshot wounds to his lower body.
The victim was transported to hospital, and his life is not considered to be in danger.
Police say a damaged vehicle was also found near the victim.
The canine unit was called in to assist in the search for evidence, while officers interviewed witnesses.
The investigation is ongoing.
