Motorcyclist dies in crash with vehicle in Roncesvalles

A motorcyclist has died after crashing into an SUV in Roncesvalles.

Toronto police were called to Roncesvalles and Howard Park avenues around 4:15 p.m. for a collision between a vehicle and motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was trapped underneath the vehicle and despite life-saving efforts, he pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the SUV, a man in his 40s, is cooperating with police.

Insp. Peter Wallace said police believe the SUV was stopped and waiting to turn when the motorcyclist collided with the vehicle. He added speed and rain may have been a factor in the crash.

Anyone who might have witnessed the crash and has dashcam footage is asked to contact police.

Howard Park is closed from Dundas Street West to Roncesvalles.
