The city’s craters may not get their fill anytime soon, but here’s some pothole news to fill your mind in the mean time.
CAA-Quebec unveiled the province’s worst roads of 2026 and the streets in the Greater Montreal region avoided the infamy of being ranked among the worst once again — something they have managed to do since 2019 when Gouin East Boulevard topped the list for the second time in a row.
However, residents of the region may not have much to cheer about as 12,000 flat tire repairs reported between between Jan. 1 and April 30, 2026 — up by 16.4 per cent compared to last year. This is higher than the 11.4 per cent increase across La Belle Province.
About three-quarters or 8,000, of those flat tires were reported on the Island of Montreal — up by 26 per cent compared to last year.

This year’s claim to the bumpiest road went to Chemin Pink in Gatineau–Outaouais region based on votes by road users. The situation seems to have only gotten worse for Chemin Pink after it was ranked the fifth-worst in 2025 and the third-worst in 2024.
While the region may not have representation in top 10 in the province, residents of Greater Montreal rated their own pothole-filled streets.
The ranking was based on voting by over 6,700 road users conducted between March 18 and April 13 by CAA-Quebec, as part the11th Worst Roads campaign. CAA-Québec
